The Harley-Davidson Museum welcomes military, veterans, their families, and all who wish to pay tribute to our country's veterans!
MILWAUKEE (October 20, 2010) - For those who wish to celebrate veterans and pay tribute to retired and active duty members of the U.S. military, the Harley-Davidson Museum is the place to be this November. Free admission for veterans, military and their families, a moving program by the cadets of St. John's Northwestern Military Academy, Harley-Davidson flags to sign that will be sent overseas, and a special Untold Stories program honoring the survivors of Pearl Harbor are just some of the highlights.
Free Admission for Veterans and their Families
November 4-7
On Thursday, November 4 through Sunday, November 7, all military personnel (active, reserve, discharged and retired) and their immediate family (limited to one additional adult admission and four children under the age of 18) will get into the Museum for free.
Gallery Talk: H-D and the Military
Thursday, November 4 at 2 p.m.
Harley-Davidson has a long and important relationship with the United States Military. Hear an Archives staff member talk about the history of military vehicles and Harley's other wartime contributions. This talk takes place on the upper level of the Museum, at the WLA motorcycle and is free with Museum admission.
Untold Stories: A Tribute to Pearl Harbor
Friday, November 5 at 7:00 p.m.
This program highlights the Harley-Davidson Remember Pearl Harbor Tribute Motorcycle also known as "Metal of Honor." Dana Harbaugh was an honorary member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association (PHSA) and created this unique motorcycle as a tribute to the survivors of the attack on Pearl Harbor. Dana will share his military background, an overview of his work photographing PHSA members and his decision to create the tribute motorcycle. (Cost: $8 for Museum members, $10 for non-members. St. John's Northwestern Military Academy Program Saturday, November 6 at 2 p.m.
Eighty cadets from St. John’s Northwestern Military Academy will perform a moving ceremony to honor veterans from wars spanning from World War I to current conflicts, dressed in actual military uniforms. The program concludes with a ceremony honoring six branches of the military and a 21-gun salute.
St. John's Northwestern Military Drill Team
Saturday, November 6 and Sunday, November 7 at 1:30, 3:30, and 4 p.m.
The St. John's Northwestern Military Academy "Silver Rifles" Exhibition Drill Team will perform their intricate precision marching and demilitarized rifle spinning and tossing.
Free "Harley-Davidson Salutes the Military" Wristband
November 4-7, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
"Harley-Davidson Salutes the Military" wristbands distributed with Museum admission while supplies last.
Honor Our Military, Inc. Collection

Meet Glory
Saturday, November 6 and Sunday, November 7, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Glory, the Museum's feathered ambassador will be onsite. Interact, learn and get your photo taken with a live Bald Eagle in the Museum Experience Gallery.
Boy Scouts – Flag Retirement Ceremony
Saturday, November 6 and Sunday, November 7 at 4 p.m.
Come watch as Boy Scouts ceremoniously retire an American flag.
Military Vehicles
Saturday, November 6 and Sunday, November 7
View WI National Guard military vehicles up close and interact with current members of the military.
Mobile Service Operations (MSO) on Site
November 4-7
The Disabled American Veterans (DAV) will be on site with their Mobile Service Operations vehicle.
Additional Veterans Day Highlights at the Harley-Davidson Museum
- See a special display of the Nation of Patriots Flag, a Pearl Harbor tribute bike, and other artifacts in the Museum lobby
- Bring your worn American flag to the Museum to be properly retired
- Sign a Harley-Davidson flag that will be sent to troops overseas following the weekend's celebration

Holiday Site Lighting Ceremony
Sunday, November 14 at 4 p.m.
Get in the holiday spirit at the Harley-Davidson Museum! Thousands of holiday lights and the holiday tree on the Museum's grounds will be lit for the first time of the season. Santa and Mrs. Claus will pay a visit, and Radio Disney will be on hand with activities for the whole family to enjoy. You can even go home with your holiday tree and wreath, as both will be available for sale on the Museum grounds! Bring a non-perishable food item and receive $4 off an adult or child admission to the Museum.
